In Villablino, the dominant geological substratum is composed mainly of slates and schists—materials that generally exhibit low bearing capacity and require detailed analysis to determine the suitability of the foundation, particularly on slopes or in altered areas. The minor presence of deltaic clays and peats implies that these horizons should be avoided as a foundation support level, since their low consistency can compromise structural stability.
