Geotechnical study in Nogueira de Ramuín

In Nogueira de Ramuín, the predominant ground is composed of sandstones, conglomerates and flysch; formations which for the most part exhibit competent behaviour and low permeability. These characteristics mean that the soil’s bearing capacity is favourable for shallow (direct) foundations, particularly in areas where these lithologies prevail. The occasional presence of granite, gneiss and other igneous rocks complements the geotechnical context, providing solid substrates, whereas slates and schists, although rare, require attention due to their possible laminated behaviour.
