In Torreblanca, limestone, dolomite and marble substrates predominate, accompanied by notable deposits of fine sands, silts and, to a lesser extent, compact gravels. These materials, in general, provide an adequate bearing capacity for shallow and deep foundations, although the subordinate presence of white/soft expansive clays in some areas may require specific solutions if they are located within the foundation area. The overall low permeability favours stability, but it is important to assess in detail the local distribution of less competent materials to avoid differential settlement.

As regards seismicity, Torreblanca is a municipality with very low seismic activity (3 events in 30 years, Mmax 2), so this factor does not influence the structural design. However, the karstic nature of the calcareous materials requires an exhaustive verification to rule out the presence of cavities or conduits before carrying out the foundation. The main geotechnical constraint in the area is the possible existence of karst processes that could affect the stability of the supporting ground.
