This geological composition implies that areas dominated by fine materials may exhibit variable bearing capacity, whereas the presence of gypsum and salts increases the potential risk of dissolution processes affecting the stability of foundations. The formations detected are generally of low permeability, although they may contain shallow aquifers associated with certain layers, which must be taken into account when planning the foundations.

Seismicity in the municipality is considered moderate, with 24 events recorded over 30 years and a maximum magnitude (Mmax) of 3.2, which does not represent a relevant structural constraint but does suggest carrying out basic checks during design. The non-clayey substrate rules out risks of expansivity. However, the development of karst in calcareous formations and the notable frequency of gypsum require a prior assessment before foundation design to rule out or appropriately size the influence of cavities or dissolution processes; this aspect is the main geotechnical condition to consider in Alaró.
