In Illa de Arousa, A, the ground is characterised mainly by the presence of water masses, representing more than 80% of the municipality. In areas where soil outcrops, sandstones, conglomerates and flysch predominate, which generally provide good bearing-capacity conditions for shallow foundations, provided that an appropriate study of the groundwater level and the compaction of the supporting ground is ensured.
