Types of ground in Orio
In Orio, the predominant geological substrate is composed of limestones, dolomites and marbles, representing more than 70% of the territory. These rock lithologies, together with the occasional presence of sandstones, conglomerates, flysch, and to a lesser extent fine sands and silts, favour a high bearing capacity and allow shallow (direct) foundations in most cases.
