In Villatobas, the geological substrate is composed mainly of sandstones, conglomerates and flysch, together with a significant proportion of limestones, dolomites and marbles. In addition, particular attention should be paid to the possible presence of locally predominant expansive clays, as they can represent a significant structural risk, especially in areas with climatic conditions that favour their instability. The most determining factor is therefore the need for an exhaustive geotechnical study to identify areas with active karst processes or expansive soils.
