Estudio geotécnico in Villarrasa

In Villarrasa, the dominant geological substrate consists of limestones, dolomites and marbles, with a very significant presence of 71.24%. These rock materials exhibit high competence and good bearing capacity, which facilitates the use of shallow (direct) foundations in most cases. However, in areas where outcrops of slates and schists occur, representing 21.65%, a possible reduction in bearing capacity and greater heterogeneity are observed, which may affect the type and depth of the foundation. The general impermeability of these formations, together with the occasional presence of shallow aquifers, requires attention to the possible rise of water in excavations.

Seismic activity in Villarrasa is very low, with only 3 events recorded over 30 years and a maximum magnitude of 2.1, which implies a negligible seismic risk in terms of structural design. No relevant karst phenomena are reported, and the absence of clayey soils rules out the risk of expansivity in the foundations. The main geotechnical constraint will be the location of areas with a possible aquifer and the heterogeneity in the transition from rigid to plastic units.
