In Torredelcampo, rocky formations predominate, such as limestones, dolomites and marbles, together with a significant presence of sandstones, conglomerates and flysch. These materials generally offer a high bearing capacity, making them favourable for shallow (direct) foundations, although, on occasions, fine sands and silts may occur, which require special attention when assessing differential settlements. Permeability is low, which minimises the risk of internal washing, although there is the possibility of shallow aquifers that may locally affect the foundation design.

From a seismic standpoint, activity in Torredelcampo is moderate, with 18 events recorded in the last 30 years and a maximum magnitude of 4.1. This does not, although, require extraordinary measures, it does advise considering moderate seismic loads in structural design. It is important to emphasise that the existence of a possible karstic environment obliges an exhaustive check for the absence of cavities or instabilities before carrying out the foundations. The absence of clayey soils rules out the risk of expansivity, leaving the main technical constraint as the verification of the karst.
