Estudio geotécnico in Sanxenxo

In Sanxenxo, formations of sandstone, conglomerates and flysch predominate, representing more than 60% of the soils, to which occasional outcrops of slates, schists, gravels and compacted sands are added. This lithological substrate generally provides an adequate bearing capacity and favourable conditions for shallow foundations, although the local presence of fine sands and silts may require additional analysis to determine their behaviour under structural loads, especially in areas where these looser or less compact materials accumulate.

Seismic activity in Sanxenxo is very low, with only one significant event every 30 years and a very low maximum magnitude (Mmax 3.2), so the seismic influence on structural design is minimal. No risks associated with karst processes or with ground expansivity are identified, since the non-clayey substrate removes this concern. Consequently, the main factor to be studied in the geotechnical study service will be the detailed characterisation of the continuity and compaction of the dominant materials, which are generally favourable for the implementation of conventional foundations.
