In the municipality of Ramirás, the prevailing geological substrate is made up of sandstone, conglomerate and flysch formations, together accounting for more than 75% of the surface area, which suggests soils with mechanical characteristics that are generally favourable for foundations, although possible localised variations must be taken into account. Occasional materials, such as slates and schists, and sporadic outcrops of granite and gneiss reinforce the presence of competent soils. No karst processes are detected, so the main condition to be checked focuses on the homogeneity of the bearing substrate and the possible presence of lenses of less competent materials within the sedimentary formations.
