In Puebla de Don Fadrique, limestone, dolomite and marble substrata predominate, accounting for close to 59% of the local soil types. The geological setting also implies the possible development of karstification in the carbonate materials; this factor must be verified in detail before the start of the works to avoid unexpected differential settlements. As the substratum is non-clayey, the risk of expansiveness is ruled out, so the most relevant constraint is the possible presence of karst cavities associated with the dominant materials.
