Types of ground in Potes
In the municipality of Potes, substrates of limestones, dolomites and marbles predominate, accompanied occasionally by overconsolidated clays and marls of high hardness. These rock materials provide a high bearing capacity and ensure good conditions for shallow foundations, provided the ground does not show significant fracturing. The overall low permeability, although locally variable due to the occasional presence of shallow aquifers, limits infiltration, which is favourable for civil works and buildings.
