In Pezuela de las Torres, substrates of limestones, dolomites and marbles predominate; these are hard materials which, in general, provide a high bearing capacity suitable for the direct foundation of buildings. These soils, together with the occasional presence of sandstones, conglomerates and flysch, as well as compact gravels and sands to a lesser extent, offer favourable behaviour for supporting loads. However, the existence of superficial masses of water or sectors with saturation will need to be considered, as they may require additional hydrogeological studies, especially in larger-scale projects.

The area shows very low seismicity (only 1 significant event in 30 years) with a low maximum magnitude (Mmax 1.9), which minimises the need to consider seismic effects in structural design. The non-clayey substratum rules out the risk of expansivity. However, the possibility of karst development in the carbonate formations requires careful verification before defining the foundation type, as the presence of cavities or dissolution can affect ground stability and constitutes the main local geotechnical constraint.
