In Palau-solità i Plegamans, the dominant subsoil is formed by sandstones, conglomerates and flysch, which accounts for half of the materials present in the municipality. The predominant geotechnical constraint is therefore the local heterogeneity of the fine fraction and low permeability, which may restrict the drainage of groundwater and requires proper characterisation in the geotechnical study prior to any foundation work.
