Types of ground in Órgiva
In Órgiva, the subsoil is dominated by slates and schists, metamorphic formations of high hardness and low deformability. This type of material generally provides a high bearing capacity, which favours the design of shallow and deep foundations, except in areas that are altered or fractured. Due to their low permeability, these formations retain little water, although small shallow aquifers may occur with localised accumulation, which requires careful assessment to avoid moisture problems or insufficient drainage in construction projects.
