In Montcada/Moncada, fine sands and silts predominate, accompanied by a significant proportion of limestones, dolomites and marbles, as well as compacted gravels and sands. These materials generally provide an adequate bearing capacity, allowing shallow foundations in most situations, although the highly permeable nature of the sandy soils and the local presence of gravels may require particular attention to the possible variability of settlements, especially in areas where the water table is high or where there are extensive and productive aquifers.
