Types of ground in Llíria
In Llíria, the dominant subsoil is made up of limestones, dolomites and marbles, which gives the ground a high bearing capacity and provides favourable conditions for direct foundation of buildings. However, there is an occasional presence of gypsum, anhydrite and salts, materials susceptible to dissolution processes, as well as a very low percentage of overconsolidated clays and fine sands. These geological characteristics make it necessary to carry out adequate site investigation in order to precisely identify the nature and continuity of the materials on the site.
Seismicity in the area is very low, with only 5 events in the last 30 years and a maximum magnitude Mmax of 2.4, so it does not represent a relevant constraint for structural design.
