Estudio geotécnico in Dodro

In Dodro, the predominant geotechnical substrate is composed of sandstones, conglomerates and flysch, which account for close to 75% of the surface area, with some additional presence of slates, schists and, in smaller proportions, fine sands and silts. This type of material generally provides an acceptable bearing capacity for shallow foundations, although the lithological alternation of the flysch may require checks for homogeneity. The low permeability detected in these formations implies that water does not infiltrate easily, which can reduce the risk of fine material being washed out, but it requires assessing possible surface accumulations before constructing the foundations.

Seismicity in Dodro is very low, with only one recorded event in the last 30 years and a maximum magnitude of 1.7, which does not imply any relevant restrictions for structural design. Due to the absence of expansive clays —as confirmed in the non-clayey substrate— the risk of expansivity is ruled out. Likewise, there are no signs of karst development in the area. The main geotechnical constraint in Dodro is the local heterogeneity of the sedimentary materials, which may influence the selection and sizing of the foundation.
