Estudio geotécnico in Cubas de la Sagra

In Cubas de la Sagra, the predominant materials correspond to sandstones, conglomerates and flysch, reaching more than 80% of the substrate, while limestones and dolomites occur occasionally. These lithologies provide a load-bearing capacity generally suitable for shallow and deep foundations, provided that in the point-based characterisation possible intercalations of more friable or locally less competent materials are analysed. The presence of aquifers with moderate permeability means that it is necessary to carefully assess the depth of the excavations and the possible interaction of the structure with the water table.

The area shows very low seismicity, with only 5 recorded events over 30 years and a maximum magnitude of 3, which does not constitute an important constraint for structural design. Since the clayey substrate is subordinate and is located in areas with low sensitivity to expansive processes, attention will only be needed if isolated levels of expansive clays are identified during the geotechnical survey. Overall, the main technical consideration focuses on characterising the nature and continuity of the supporting materials.
