In the municipality of Casasimarro, soils formed by limestones, dolomites and marbles predominate, configuring a compact, generally competent rock substratum. These lithologies provide favourable conditions for foundations, since they offer a high bearing capacity and low deformability; however, their usual low surface permeability implies that the relevant aquifers are found at greater depth, which may require specific prospecting work if it is intended to exploit groundwater or control the groundwater table level prior to construction.
