Estudio geotécnico in Campezo/Kanpezu

In Campezo/Kanpezu, soils formed by limestones, dolomites and marbles predominate, accounting for more than two thirds of the lithological types present. This rocky substrate generally gives the ground a good bearing capacity, making it favourable for shallow (direct) foundations. A significant presence of sandstones, conglomerates and flysch is also observed; these sedimentary materials may show some heterogeneity in strength, although overall the risk of problems due to compressibility or differential settlement is usually low.

Seismic activity in the area is very low, with fewer than 10 events over 30 years and a low maximum magnitude, so seismicity does not represent a relevant constraint for structural design. The non-clayey substrate rules out risks associated with shrink–swell (expansivity). However, the predominance of carbonate rocks implies the possibility of karst development; therefore, it is essential to investigate the presence of cavities or dissolution effects before defining the foundation, since karst is the main geotechnical constraint in the area.
