Estudio geotécnico in Antas de Ulla

In Antas de Ulla, the predominant soils correspond to sandstones, conglomerates and flysch, representing more than 93% of the substrate, with occasional occurrences of slates and schists. This type of material generally provides good bearing capacity, allowing solutions for shallow (direct) foundation in most constructions. The characteristic low permeability of these lithologies favours stability but may require special attention to surface drainage and to the management of shallow aquifers where they exist.

The area shows very low seismicity, with only two recorded events in the last 30 years and a maximum magnitude of 2.1, which implies no relevant restrictions in structural design. No risks associated with karst development are identified, nor problems of expansivity, since the substrate does not contain expansive clays. The main geotechnical constraint in Antas de Ulla will therefore be the management of water in contact with low-permeability ground.
