Estudio geotécnico in Alp

In Alp, the predominant geological substrate is composed of slates and schists, both metamorphic materials that provide a competent, stable foundation for the footings of buildings. Less frequently, sandstones, conglomerates and flysch can also be found; these may exhibit variability in their mechanical response, and on occasion, deposits of overconsolidated clays and marls of high hardness as well as fine sands with silts. These characteristics, together with the general impermeability of the formations, ensure good bearing capacity, although the presence of isolated fine materials could require a localised assessment before determining the most suitable foundation system.

The seismicity of the area is very low, with only 9 events in the last 30 years and a maximum recorded magnitude of 3.2, so seismic risk does not represent a relevant constraint for structural design in Alp. However, since the area shows karst development, it is essential to verify the presence of cavities or instabilities associated with it before proceeding with any foundation, this being the main factor to consider during the local geotechnical study.
