In the municipality of Alosno, the dominant geotechnical subsoil is made up of slates and schists, accounting for more than 90% of the local ground. These materials are characteristically impermeable or have very low permeability, which may lead to the occasional presence of shallow aquifers in low-lying topographic areas.
