In the municipality of Ágreda, sandstone, conglomerate and flysch materials predominate, accounting for close to 60% of the ground and providing a substrate with a high load-bearing capacity. Given that the predominant substrate is non-clayey, the risk of expansiveness is ruled out. However, the possible presence of karst processes in the scarce areas of limestones and dolomites makes it necessary to carry out a specific verification of the karst before defining any type of foundation. The main limiting factor in Ágreda is the local assessment of karst cavities in calcareous areas, particularly for large-scale projects.
